Our Story

Sejak 1978

A kitchen built by Nenek Aminah.

Selera Malaysia began as a five-table warung in Penang, opened by our grandmother in 1978. She cooked the food she grew up with: rendang slow-toasted for hours, laksa with broth simmered before sunrise, and nasi lemak wrapped in banana leaf so the rice would carry the scent of home.

Three generations later, her recipes are still the spine of our menu. We have grown — a heritage shophouse on Jalan Bukit Bintang, candle-lit rattan dining, a wood-fired grill out back — but the cooking remains unhurried, generous, and rooted in family.
